How to add effects plugins to a track in GarageBand

6 steps

1. Select the track
2. Press B to open Smart Controls
3. Click the Inspector button, the i at the top left of Smart Controls
4. In the Plug-ins area, click an empty slot
5. Choose an effect from the list, for example Reverb or EQ
6. Adjust the effect's settings in the window that opens
