How to edit notes in the Piano Roll editor in GarageBand

6 steps · Written for Mac. On Windows, use Ctrl for Command and Alt for Option.

1. Double-click a software instrument region to open the Piano Roll
2. Drag a note up or down to change its pitch, left or right to move it
3. Drag the right edge of a note to make it longer or shorter
4. Command-click an empty spot to add a note
5. Select a note and press Delete to remove it
6. Press Space to listen
