How to fix no sound when recording in GarageBand
- Choose GarageBand > Settings > Audio/MIDI
- Set Input Device to your microphone and Output Device to your speakers or headphones
- Make sure the track is an Audio track, not a Software Instrument track
- Press B and choose the right Input for that track
- Raise the Recording Level while you sing and check that the meter moves
- If the meter doesn't move, open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and allow GarageBand
