How to make your first track in FL Studio
- Choose File > New to start an empty project
- Click the tempo at the top and drag it to a speed you like, for example 120
- Find Kick, the first drum row in the Channel Rack (F6 shows the rack if it's hidden)
- Click the steps of the Kick row on 1, 5, 9 and 13
- Click the steps of the Clap row on 5 and 13
- Press Space to hear the beat, and Space again to stop
- Click the + at the bottom of the Channel Rack and choose FLEX, then press Escape to close its window
- Right-click the FLEX channel and choose Piano roll
- Click in the grid to add notes for a short melody
- Find Track 1 in the Playlist (F5 brings the Playlist to the front)
- Click in the Playlist to place the pattern, then drag its right edge to make it longer
- Click PAT at the top so it switches to SONG, then press Space
- Choose File > Export > MP3 file, click Save and then Start
